The Shire of Dardanup is committed to supporting and encouraging its residents of all ages – from children to seniors – to be more active. Our community is vibrant, active and engaged. People who live here care about each other, their environment and their future.
Ensuring continuous investment in development of new infrastructure plus maintenance of the existing network and facilities ensures economic and urban growth of the Shire is supported, while lifestyle elements such as access, safety and environment are preserved and enhanced.
Eaton forms the largest part of the Shire of Dardanup’s rate base and commercial hub with a population of about 10,000.
Until the relocation of the Shire’s Administration Centre to Eaton in 1999, Dardanup formed the administrative centre.
Surrounded by a stunning hinterland of rolling green farm hills and vineyards, the town offers an attractive semi-rural lifestyle.
Burekup was originally developed as a timber town in the early part of the 20th Century but has since attracted residents servicing surrounding rural activities.
More recently, Burekup has begun to attract more ‘lifestyle’ residents who commute to nearby employment centres.
